What is acupuncture and what can it do for me?
Acupuncture is a form of medical treatment practiced for thousands of years, most notably by the Chinese. It has been passed down through time and across cultures as one approach to treating what ails us. The basic theory is that by placing very fine needles at specified points in the body, we are able to adjust energy flows in different pathways that course through our bodies. It allows for building-up, balancing, and dispersing various energy meridians, as needed, to treat many problems we may have.
Keep in Balance
A major philosophy in acupuncture medicine is that early on in the course of a disease process or a physical/mental imbalance, energy can become blocked. Channels can become overactive or sluggish in the movement of their energy/”Qi”. Acupuncture is good at correcting these processes early on in their development; thus bringing your body and mind into balance. It is a great form of Preventive Medicine. Keep in Balance.

"I became a firm believer in acupuncture after my first session with Dr. Tom. I was afflicted with a sharp, severe pain that extended from my neck, to my left shoulder and continued down my arm to my hand. I endured the pain for at least 3 months. After a full medical check-up with my regular doctor, pain killers, and several treatments by my massage therapist, the pain persisted. I finally decided to try acupuncture. After only one acupuncture treatment, the morning after, the pain was completely gone. The procedure was virtually painless, and almost relaxing. It has been several months, and the pain has not recurred."

"I've tried several other acupuncturists in the past, but I never achieved such amazing results as with Dr. Heiman. He truly has the gentlest touch and the way he first listens and then administers the treatment took away all the fear I usually feel around needles. After just one treatment, my sharp sciatic pain had lulled to a barely noticeable sensation, and more amazingly, I felt more energized than ever for several days after the treatment. I am so grateful to have such a lasting effect from his treatment, and I recommend Dr. Heiman highly to anybody who seeks pain relief or an uplift in energy."

"Since I have been receiving acupuncture treatments from you, I feel much better. I am more relaxed and have less anxiety in my life. You have really helped me to "keep my bubble in the middle" and deal with day-to-day situations in a calmer and more focused way. Thank you so much! You are very patient and always willing to listen and I appreciate all that you do for me."
